Candle Care Tips
You now possess a brand-new candle, Congratulations! Although candles are calming, nostalgic, and comforting, an improperly controlled open flame can be hazardous. Don’t worry, we’ll make sure your candles burn safely and cheerfully for you. Any of your inquiries regarding burning candles can be answered by us. Let’s start now!
Preparing your candle for the first burn
The first step is to ensure that your wick is the right length. We recommend using a wick trimmer since it provides a lovely clean cut while preserving the integrity of the wick. Before burning, the wick should be around 1/4″ long. For each consecutive burn, you’ll want to trim the wick to this size. To avoid debris from falling into hot wax, we recommend cutting wicks only on cooled candles. When you light your candle for the first time, always allow the wax to burn so that it melts across the entire surface to the edges and pools to the edges of the container. This will effectively assist in preventing Tunneling and help promote an even burn for the duration of the candle’s life.
General Tips
Candle waxes and perfumes are temperature and light sensitive, so be cautious while keeping candles. Always keep your candles in a cool, dry area out of direct sunlight. This will constantly aid to prevent discoloration and fading. It is critical that your candle burns fully liquid throughout the surface Every time you burn it. The time it takes for the candle to become entirely liquid is determined by the wax, scent, surface it is on, and the temperature of the room it is in. This usually takes 2 to 4 hours. Smoking a candle is supposed to be a relaxing experience, so be sure you can stay with it for at least as long as it takes to burn over the surface.
Below are a few additional Candle care tips from our experts:
- Candles are designed to be enjoyed, but it is essential to observe some basic safety precautions when using them.
- A burning candle should never be left alone. Before retiring to bed or while leaving a room, extinguish all candles.
- Lighted candles should be kept away from draughts, ceiling fans, and air currents. Any type of air movement can produce uneven burning, smoke, a reduction in smell throw, and even a reduction in burn time.
- Each time the candle is lighted, trim the wick to 5 mm. This keeps the flame from becoming too big.
- Keep candles away from children and pets, and never leave them burning unattended.
- If a candle frequently smokes, flickers, or has a high flame, put it out.
- For optimal effects, burn your candle for between one and four hours at a time. Extinguish the flame after a few hours, recenter and trim the wick, and then relight if you want to enjoy it for a longer period of time.
- Put candle holders on a strong, heat-resistant surface large enough to catch any melted wax.
- If the container is broken, chipped, scraped, or otherwise damaged, do not burn the candle.
- If the candle is burning properly, it should be steady (rather than flickering), teardrop-shaped, and upright.
- Make sure your candle is clear of any wick trimmings, matches, and other debris after you’ve properly centred and trimmed it. They can revive and ignite again, producing a flame that is too big for the candle, creating a safety risk and perhaps destroying the jar.
